Technology executive · systems thinker · institution builder

Building systems for a more alive world.

I work where technology, institutions, and human possibility meet. Across executive leadership, digital products, public learning, and organizational transformation, I help complex systems become more coherent, adaptive, trustworthy, and open to new possibility.

Based in Greater Philadelphia.

About

A practical futurist with philosophical roots.

I have spent more than two decades building technology, products, teams, and institutions. My career has crossed financial services, mission-driven nonprofits, digital communities, public thought, science, religion, culture, and enterprise infrastructure.

I am most energized by people and institutions attempting something meaningful that has not yet settled into an obvious shape. Those moments demand technical judgment, imagination, patience, and a willingness to let new possibilities emerge.

What connects the work

A durable fascination with how people create meaning together, how organizations learn, and how new forms of order arise without being fully designed from above.

The Work

Technology is never only technical.

The most consequential technology decisions are also decisions about mission, power, culture, trust, judgment, and participation. I work across those layers rather than treating them as separate rooms.

01

Technology and product leadership

Strategy, architecture, digital products, AI, cybersecurity, vendors, operations, and the teams required to make them cohere.

02

Institutional transformation

Helping organizations navigate growth, reinvention, business-model change, governance, and the difficult middle between vision and execution.

03

Public learning and engagement

Audience-centered platforms, publications, communities, and experiences that invite people into serious ideas without flattening them.

04

AI and human judgment

Responsible adoption of generative AI and automation, with clear accountability, risk controls, training, and human agency kept in view.

05

Trust and resilience

Security, privacy, identity, continuity, documentation, accessibility, and governance as foundations rather than afterthoughts.

06

Executive translation

Building connective tissue among mission, content, product, operations, data, risk, boards, investors, and cross-functional leadership.

How I Think

Systems are alive because participation changes them.

I am drawn to organizations, technologies, communities, and ideas that evolve through relationship. Complexity cannot be mastered from above, but it can be listened to, shaped, and stewarded. The work is to create conditions in which intelligence, trust, meaning, and new possibility can emerge.

01

Institutions are living systems

Organizations are evolving networks of people, histories, relationships, technologies, incentives, and meanings. Durable change begins by seeing the whole ecology.

02

The future is co-created

The future is not simply predicted, planned, or delivered. It emerges through participation. Good leadership expands the number of people capable of meaningfully shaping what comes next.

03

Technology becomes culture

Every platform carries assumptions about authority, access, behavior, knowledge, and human possibility. Technology strategy therefore belongs inside institutional strategy, not beside it.

04

Trust expands possibility

Security, privacy, accessibility, reliability, and transparency are not merely protective constraints. They create the confidence that allows people and institutions to experiment, collaborate, and grow.

05

Pluralism is a form of intelligence

No single perspective can fully comprehend a complex system. Institutions become wiser when they can hold principled disagreement, diverse experience, and evolving understanding without fragmenting into incoherence.

06

Leadership is stewardship

Leaders do not control every outcome. They shape relationships, constraints, feedback loops, and conditions so that better forms of order can emerge and endure.

Where the Work Has Taken Me

The same questions, taking different forms.

My career has crossed industries and institutions, but the underlying work has remained remarkably consistent: helping organizations use technology thoughtfully, navigate complexity, and build what comes next.
